Your home’s air ducts’ main function is to ensure that air is properly
circulated in and out of your house. Because of its function, however, it can
also cause dirt, debris, and dust to spread through your home. Fortunately,
there is a way to handle this.
When to Clean Your Air Ducts
Most professionals recommend air duct cleaning on a regular
basis since, after all, your ducts would definitely accumulate dust over time.
It is, however, also recommended that you have your ducts cleaned as soon as
you notice a number of signs including significant mold growth within your
ducts.
If you suspect vermin infestation within ducts, you should consider
checking and having your air ducts cleaned. Aside from the knocking and
scratching sound that you might hear along your ducts, another visible sign of
vermin infestation would be nicks and bite marks along the edges of your ducts.
Your ventilation ducts should also be cleaned if you are experiencing a
change in the quality of incoming air. Keep in mind that a musty smell or one
that causes you to sneeze could be a sign that your ducts already have
accumulated too much dust and debris.
Although it can be quite tempting to do the cleaning on your own, you
have to keep in mind that professionals are more equipped when it comes to
ensuring that every nook and cranny of your ducts have been cleaned.
